PHILIPPINE Christian University of head coach Joel Dualan subdued Ateneo De Manila University, 74-66, to capture its second win in Sunday’s Fil-Oil Flying V preseason invitational cup at the Arena in San Juan City .

Marlon Busa played in veteran fashion in the endgame, scoring 14 of his 22 points in the final minutes and grabbing 13 rebounds to improve the Dolphins’ slate, 2-4 and give the Blue Eagles their fifth straight loss in six games.

“We’re just doing our best each game and I’m happy the players are now playing without any pressures,” said PCU coach Joel Dualan. “I’m hoping my players will learn more from this league.”

Guard Marlon Gomez drilled in 14 points while Liztian Amparado and Leimar Navarro tallied each 10 points.

The Dolphins started the opening quarter with a bang as Gomez scored his first four baskets to give PCU a 21-12 spread at the start of the next quarter.

Busa made a huge three-point play to provide the Dolphins a 31-15 lead. From there, the Dolphins were out of reach.
