The University of the Philippines continues its losing streak as it succumbed to the National University with a 19-point deficit, 85-66, in the continuation of the second round of the UAAP ’70 at the Araneta Coliseum last August 11.

Mike Gamboa, Jay Agbayani and Woody Co listed a combined 39 points to keep the Fighting Maroons from bleeding.

UP fought hard in the first quarter, trailing by just three points behind NU, 15-12.

The boys from Diliman continued to miss baskets and only Agbayani kept the engine running for UP. UP scored only a total of 10 points n the fourth quarter while the Bulldogs nailed in 23 points.

With 2:20 left to play, Asoro took charge and led an 8-2 run, including a slam with less than 40 seconds left in the clock.
