ADAMSON University head coach Williams “Bogs” Adornado returns to coaching job on Saturday, quashing ‘resignation report.’

“I just let coach Jing (Ruiz) to coach the team last Sunday because I want to take some rest. Anyway, we are still following the same old system even I’m not around,” Adornado told inboundpass.com Tuesday. “Yes I’ll return on Sunday against NU.”

President Fr. Greg Bañaga of Adamson also denied the rumors that Adornado is on the verge of resigning.

“He is our coach because he’s under contract with us,” said Bañaga. “He only told us that he wanted to take a rest for few days but he didn’t elaborate anything.”

But there were reports from the school’s athletic department that Adornado was mad and frustrated at his players last Saturday during practice.

Adamson is presently in seventh place with a 1-7 record.

“The last time we saw him, he (Adornado) was very angry with his players during practice,” said one athlete, who spoke in condition of anonymity. “He even shattered the game board then he walked away.”

Adornado was no show in the Falcons’ last game last Sunday, where they lost against the Far Eastern U Tamaraws, 69-72.

Assistant coach Jing Ruiz took charge of coaching.

Actually, they are a pretty decent defensive team. They just couldn’t sustain their attack because they lack bench depth and they have to be more efficient in offense and monitor their shot selection.
