24 08 2007

Though no hope of making it in the next round but at least one of them should put up a fight. The University of Perpetual Help System Daltas demolished the College of St. Benilde Blazers in thier final game of the season, 66-52, at Season 83 of the Senior Men’s Basketball last August 24 at the Arena in San Juan.

The Altas, with the win, have snapped a four-game losing skid as they moved up to 3-7 with just two games remaining in the eliminations while the Blazers finished their forgettable campaign with a 1-11 record.

“We kept fighting till the end although there’s no chance left for us,” said Perpetual guard Mark Kong, who paced his team with 17 points. “We still have two games left and it is better to win them.”

CSB, with this 1-11 record, has completed their worst season since they joined the league in 1998.

Virgilio Manuel and Franz Dysam added 13 points each for Perpetual, which missed the Final Four bus for a third consecutive season.

David Urra was the lone Blazers scorer in double digits with 10 markers.
