It was just another day at the ball park for the UE Red Warriors.
The University of the East remain undefeated after winning their 11th straight win this season in an effortless victory over the Adamson Falcons, 73-55, at the Araneta Coliseum last August 26.
All players in the Red Warriors roster scored. The Falcons, on the other hand, were dependent on Roel Hugnatan who made 24 points and 10 rebs.
Patrick Cabahug surprisingly went short of a double digit performance with 8 points, making this game his worst so far season.
The Red Warriors led by 16 points after the first half, 43-27. Hugnatan nailed in 12 points for the Falcons while James Martinez topped the red shirts with 8 points. The Falcons continued to struggle with their shots in the 3rd quarter.
Cabahug made 6 of his 8 points but the Warriors proved to be a menace for Adamson as they settled for a 20-point deficit, 60-40, after three quarters.
In the final quarter, Hugnatan remained the last man standing for the Falcons. But his solo effort fell short as the Red Warriors crashed the Falcons, 73-55, for win no. 11.
The game saw the aggressiveness and intensity of UE, things they lack in their last game against NU.
“Kinausap ko ‘ung captain at co-captain at inamin naman nila na they played bad last time,” said Coach Dindo pertaining to an almost upset against NU in their last game.
Coach Dindo said he has faith in his players.
“We don’t talk about sweep. We make it one game at a time,” said Coach Dindo Pumaren who said they are always just aiming for another win and not a sweep.

Good play!
Canizares, Jorel did a great job!
Hope this year is for Red Warriors. GO Fight Red and White.
UE 11-0 na. Keep up and maintain composure. UE has a very good chance of making it to the finals this season.
13 and 1 anyone?
We have faith in the Warriors.
better to have a final four action.. don’t you think? La Salle should play hard and beat UE on their last face-off to avoid the warriors getting an automatic shot in the finals. Will the archers prevail? Let’s see….
The Warriors are happy with their 11th straight wins. They’re not predicting a sweep because their 3 remaining matches will be very tough, especially the Green and White. At this point, they are just aiming if could extend their winning streak.
So actually based on the schedule, there are 3 teams that are yet to challenge the warriors before the 2nd round ends. They are FEU, UP and DLSU. Well, I have this feeling that La Salle will spoil UE’s winning streak.
…………………..vIva!
Aha! yellow_we, I have a feeling too ha ha!
But hindi rin natin masasabi..
let’s see, let’s see.
Doblehin pa dapat ng Warriors ang kanilang pagiging agresibo sa laro, at iwas foul.
TIRA UE! FIGHT FOR VICTORY!
Aside from UST waaay back in the 90’s, was there any other team would actually made The Streak?
The closed that any team came was La Salles 14 straight wins. They lost to Ateneo is the final game of the regular season and eventually lost in the championship to Ateneo.
yellow_we, basketball lang yan, manalo o matalo, sports lang yan! walang pikunan, walang asaran, it’s just a game… o peace ha? UST played a good game vs. ateneo kanina.
LEIGH.. right. I’m just also speculating. I’m looking forward actually for a Final Four series. But if UE is really destined to be on top with its winning streak, only ladder rule will be applied. This means that should UE have a 14-0 record, they are automatically in the Finals. The #2 team will be waiting for an opponent whoever wins in the #3 vs. #4 knock out game. To add, the #2 team is still priveleged to have the twice to beat advantage. And then whoever wins that game will of course get the chance to battle with the warriors for this year’s championship. Just an FYI! 🙂
Wouldn’t be more exciting to see UE in action in Final 4? 😉
You bet! It will be a hell of a war!!
………………..vIva!
que que.. huh?! oo nga.. wala naman akong sinasabi ah.. lol! hmm.. I agree with you! definitely! UST vs. ADMU was a good game though we lost. Hats off to the Tigers and Eagles!
OO naman, yellow_we :]
Sobrang exciting yuon kapag asa Final4 ang mga Warriors.
Medyo late na to pero, tumulo laway ko sa laban ng UST-ADMU. HAHA!
well, after all is said… sports lang, don’t have to put other teams down.
12-0 na! But don’t talk about sweep. UE will just take one game at a time, the next game will also be tough vs. UP.
i love each and every game of UE..so please don’t talk bad against UE..they always deserve to win…every game they won was not tsamba..they earned it because they worked hard for it..
TIRA UE FIGHT FOR VICTORY!!!

GO UP! Animo La Salle! I hail From La Salle Green Hills… ngayon isang “isko” sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas . I can say that La Salle will win the championship this year and UP for the upcoming cheerdance competition.
Hehehe. Give UE a chance naman 🙂
TIRA UE! FIGHT FOR VICTORY!
Warriors 13-0 na, but don’t want to predict a sweep. The Greens & Blues match will be a very exciting and interesting game tomorrow! Both of them will be aiming for the no. 2 spot.
la salle dynasty is over! 0-2 against ateneo and 0-2 against UE? di naramdaman ang come back nyo. parang suspended pa rin kayo! walang kwenta! puro lang kayo yabang!
ang panalo ng ateneo sa la salle ano? 2 points? 3 points? considering na nasa championships kayo last year at kami wala.
ang ue? ano nag overtime pa. may nakagawa na ba sa inyo niyang against ue this season?
tignan na lang natin sa next 2 meetings natin.
tama ka maroon archer. la salle will win this year’s uaap basketball championship.
i think UE will bring home the crown..
they learn thier lesson last season
lasalle will struggle if they not stop their boastfullness..be patient, show them u are LA SALLE discipline
i think ateneo among the 2,3,4 slots have the big chance to figth the ue they have discipline in players and such a coach that is really proven..i amaze coach black when they face last year the adamson..GREAT ONE BIG FIGTH!
for ust and feu keep it up have the consistency!
i just think we will win this year. just like others who also think their school teams will also win this year.
indeed ateneo won their games with la salle. but they weren’t that convincing enough. both games were cliffhangers.
and la salle’s game with ue went to overtime. has any other school done that with ue this year?
GO FIGHT RED&WHITE..
E A S T
LET’S PAINT THE TOWN RED!!!!
Stewie:
Wala ngang nakagawa niyan sa amin.
So, what? Haha!
Sabi nga ni Spectator sa isang post niya sa isang article dito..
“GOD IS WATCHING”
Do you think after all the whinings and filthy actions Brian Ilad has done, mananalo ang dlsu? Nope.
Hindi SIYA bulag.
leigh, anong so what?
wala kang masagot kung hindi God is watching?
so sa tingin mo may Divine intervention that your team won?
was God watching when Hitler massacred millions of Jews?
Get real, leigh. Don’t involve the Lord in the game of mortals.
